If at first you don’t suceed…

Try try again, right?

So once again, I am giving #80Weeks a start.

To recap:

1. In bed 8 hours and sleep at least 7 hours.
2. 8K steps each day. 8 minutes on the bike or 8 minutes of Yoga.
3. No clothing purchases.
4. No wine or alcohol.
5. Write for 8 minutes a day.
6. Blog 80% of the days to track progress. (That is about 5 days a week, really 6 but I am going with tiny goals here.
7. Declutter 8 things a week.
8. IF goal: Maximum eating window of 8 hours.

Those are the 8 habits I would like to build. but I am a bit of a perfectionist, which is why I am starting again. I was striving for perfection in all 8 things. Why? Well, that is a topic for some therapy but suffice to say I am going to make it easier to succeed. So success will be 80% of them every week. I am ready to reach for being a B student. And I am starting on a Tuesday. Tuesday is such a nice day, no baggage of being a Monday, no Hump-Day pressure, and certainly no expectations like Friday through Sunday. Seems perfect for my 80% life.

These are not hard things and I have tweaked the goals for these 8 weeks to the smallest little bit possible. I have been writing for at least 10 minutes a day since December and that has really been easy. I will most likely continue to aim for 10 minutes, but as far as #80Weeks is concerned, 8 is a win.

New for this attempt, I got a spin-type bike (think Peloton, but much cheaper) and have been doing 20 minute rides 5 or so days a week, right after the morning writing session. While my goal is 8 minutes, I will continue to do 20 minutes if I have the time. And Yoga either Tuesday/Thursday lunches (unfortunately everyone else’s favorite meeting time.) or in the evenings before bed.

So, Rah Rah, go me!
